I'm Sorry

My tutorials require a working knowledge of Paint Shop Pro!

Supplies Needed:
*Paint Shop Pro

*Animation Shop

*"Gothic Black" PTU scrap kit by Dark Yarrow which can be purchased from MPT

*Eye Candy 4000 Gradient Glow-optional

*Font of Choice. I used Ginebra Bolds HERE

*1 Image and matching tube of choice. I am using the awesome artwork of Dark Yarrow from MPT. Please do not use the same image and tube unless you have the proper license to do so. Visit Dark Yarrow website HERE

*Blood Tear drops HERE.

Let's Begin--

Open a 650X650 White Canvas.

Open a paper of choice from the scrap kit. Set the paper to your foreground color as pattern. Background null. Grab your rectangle tool, width 25, and draw out a rectangle, use my tag as reference for size. Convert to raster layer. Rotate to the left 15 degrees.

Open your image of choice. Copy and paste it behind the rectangle and rotate it 15 degrees left.. Resize if needed, use eraser tool to erase parts of image that stick outside of the rectangle. Add a drop shadow to the rectangle. Duplicate the image layer. Click on the bottom copy of the image layer and go to Adjust-Blur-Gaussian Blue-radius 35. Go to Effects-Texture Effects-Blinds with these settings:

Width: 4
Opacity: 75
Color: White
Horizontal UNCHECKED!

Close off your background layer and merge visible. Open your background layer.

With your foreground set to the same paper and width, Using your ellipse tool, draw out a circle on the bottom right hand side, use my tag for reference. Convert to raster layer. Click inside the circle with your magic wand. Selections-modify-Expand by 4. Open a different paper from the kit, copy and paste it onto your canvas, Selections-Invert, hit delete. Move the paper layer below the circle layer. Duplicate the paper layer. Apply the same Gaussian blur and blinds effect to the bottom copy of the paper layer here.

Open your tube. Copy and paste it onto your canvas. Duplicate it. Move the duplicate underneath the circle frame and the other one make sure it's right above the circle layer. Add a drop shadow to each tube. Close off the top copy of the tube and select the bottom copy. Use your eraser tool to erase the parts of the tube that are sticking out of the bottom part of the circle only. Open your top copy and erase the bottom half of the tube until the circle frame appears. Like in my tag, it looks like the bears feet are behind the circle. Leave the top part of the tube sticking out of the circle at the top.

Add drop shadow to the circle layer.

Select your circle layer. Set your foreground color to a bright color you can see like neon green, width 2, background null.

Using your ellipse tool, draw out a circle on top of your other circle. This is where the test is going to be. Do not convert to raster layer. Click on your text tool and point your curser on the circle until it turns to an A. Click and a text box will pop up. Set your font, size and change your color pallets to black. Type out the text you wish and keep typing it until it appears all the way around the circle. Go to Selections-From Vector Objects, Selections-Promote Selection to Layer, delete the circle in your layer palette, Selections-Select None. The text should be in it's own layer and the circle should be gone. Apply Gradient Glow Fat and a drop shadow.

Add the doodle from the kit on top of the Gaussian blur layers. Add the cross with chain, resize if needed and ass a drop shadow. Add a bow to the top of the chain. Add a couple of flowers and drop shadow them.

Add a few blood drop tears coming out of your tubes eyes.

Add your name and copyright information.

You can save it like this as a jpg. If you wish to animate it, then follow the steps below:

Open Animation Shop.

Duplicate your image/rectangle layer twice. Close off the top two copies and keep the bottom one open. Close off the bow and chained cross for now so you can see the image better.

Using your freehand selection tool, select around the sky area of the image. Keep selected.

Grab your Lighten/Darken tool, size 256. Make sure the bottom copy of the image layer is slected, and left click a few times on the image to lighten it a little bit.

Close off that layer and open up the next image layer. Now right-click on it a few times to make it a bit darker.

Close off that layer and open up the next image layer. Now left click a couple of times again to make it lighter again.

Selections-Select None.

Open back up the bow and chained cross layers.

Close off the bottom copy of the image layers. Copy merged on your canvas. Go to AS, paste as new animation.

Back in PSP, close off the bottom image layer and open the next one. Copy merged, go to AS and paste after current frame.

Back in PSP, close off the middle image layer and open the top middle layer. Copy merged, go to AS and paste after current frame.

I randomly chose 1 or 2 frames and copied them and pasted them to the end of the animation to make the effect look sporadic.

Check your animation, play around with the settings to make it look the way you want it to.

Save as gif!
